About David



Constable David Woodruff has been a proud Texan and resident of Arlington since 1974. He graduated from Lamar High School in 1987, where he was a leader within his class. David then attended The University of North Texas and graduated in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. He went on to complete the police academy in 1993 and is a licensed Peace Officer with a Master peace officer certification. He has since completed over 3,100 hours of continuing education in law enforcement training.

David has always been a passionate public servant. He began his career as a Deputy Constable in Tarrant County and went on to serve as a Police Officer for the Euless and Dalworthington Gardens Police Departments. His passion for making a difference was also evident as he served 10 yrs for the Arlington I.S.D. as a Criminal Justice Teacher and Truancy Officer. 

Community involvement has always played in important part of David's life. He has volunteered with the Big Brothers and Sisters, Kiwani's club, Mission Arlington, and North Arlington Rotary. David is a member of the Republican party and continues uphold his conservative values.

After running a successful campaign and earning 76% of the vote, he was elected to his first four-year term in March of 2012. With his family and friends  in attendance, The Honorable Judge Linda Davis swore him into office on January 1, 2013. David is married to Amy (Baldelli) Woodruff and together, they have four daughters, Jordan, Kendal, Ella and Reagan.
